Stephen Sepaniak

Mr. Sepaniak graduated with honors with a degree in English Literature from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC. Thereafter he attended Seton Hall University Law School, Newark, New Jersey and received his Juris Doctor degree graduating with honors. Subsequent to graduation, he attended New York University School of Law in Manhattan concentrating on Estate Planning and Taxation.Mr. Sepaniak earned a Masters Degree in Public Health Administration from the University of Massachusetts in 2006.

Mr . Sepaniak served a judicial clerkship in the Superior Court of New Jersey Law Division, Union County for the Honorable Chester Weidenburner . Thereafter, Mr . Sepaniak joined the law firm of Schenck , Price, Smith & King in Morristown, New Jersey where he concentrated on litigation and corporate law eventually specializing in healthcare . In addition to representing healthcare institutions, Mr . Sepaniak formed and represented a number of physician provider organizations . Additionally, his practice included representation of individual physicians and physician groups relating to Certificate of Need, Medicare/Medicaid issues (including fraud and abuse), and representation before the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners on licensure and regulatory compliance issues .

In 1995 Mr . Sepaniak accepted a position as General Counsel for Morristown Memorial Hospital (now Morristown Medical Center) and represented the hospital when it formed Atlantic Health System .

Mr . Sepaniak accepted a position as Vice President & General Counsel with Atlantic Health System in 1996 . In that role, he acted as chief corporate spokesperson for all negotiations with hospital and other integrated delivery systems . He formulated strategic initiatives for horizontal and vertical integration , including physicians and other third party joint ventures, directed and managed risk management and all medical malpractice and general liability litigation for the system, engaged and directed all outside counsel and coordinated all legal and regulatory compliance for AHS . Mr . Sepaniak also received Corporate Compliance Officer for Atlantic Health System and had responsibility for the Internal Audit Department of Atlantic as well as Risk Management, Insurance and Real Estate .

Mr . Sepaniak continues to serve as a Board Member for Atlantic Health Management Corp . , AHS’s for - profit holding and its subsidiary, AHS Investment Corp .

Mr . Sepaniak joined Bubb, Grogan & Cocca, LLP in 2013 and continues to practice Health Care Law . Mr . Sepaniak is developing a Health Care Practice group for the Firm and is available to provide consulting services on a broad range of health care, compliance and captive insurance matters.
